Clinic History

In 1999, Mission Creek Animal Hospital was opened by Dr. Bruce Baptie as a full service clinic for the Kelowna area, offering  complete health care for your cat or dog. It started off as a small animal veterinary practice with a focus on small animal medicine and surgery.

In 2006, Dr. Andrew McCarthy and Dr. Tannis McCarthy moved to Kelowna. They discovered Mission Creek Animal Hospital a few short years later and knew they had to become part of such a caring and innovative veterinary clinic. In 2010, Andrew became a part owner of the clinic, then in 2014 Tannis joined the team as well. Five years later, in 2019, and Andrew and Tannis took over full ownership.

The New Location

As the clinic grew, it became very apparent that Mission Creek Animal Hospital had outgrown their space. Andrew and Tannis began the search for a new location, but wanted to keep the clinic in the wonderful community that they live and raise their family in. When they discovered the space on Lakeshore Road was available, they jumped at the chance to create a new space for their clinic. The new location at 101-4624 Lakeshore Rd officially opened in October 2019 and Andrew and Tannis are very happy the about new clinic, the new neighbours and the community.

Why we do what we do

Andrew and Tannis are passionate about veterinary medicine and really enjoy getting to know their clients. The entire veterinarian health care team at Mission Creek Animal Hospital, works hard to help their clients feel confident and informed to make the best health care decisions for their pets. The Mission Creek Animal Hospital team is so dedicated to providing top quality care that every member of the team participates in continuing education programs to ensure that new ideas and research are integrated into the clinic to further expand our experience.
